??? Giveaway!

Today I am going to do something a little different. It is a Secret Giveaway! I'm not telling you what I am giving away. It could be a box of chocolates, a pair of warm socks, a gift card to the Gap, a brand new TV (yeah right), a box of Kleenex, etc.

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve! We went to MIL's house for dinner but was home by 10. I was asleep before the New Year rang in. Our two youngest kids woke me 3 times before 3 A.M. Maybe they wanted to party with me!?

My New Year's Resolution is to get my children to sleep all night long. It has been almost a year since I have gotten a good night's sleep. It is time!

So, tell me what your New Year's Resolution is!

Spread the Love,

My New Year's resolution is to work on eating and drinking healthier. I'm not totally giving up Diet Coke, but I'm trying not to drink two glasses back to back anymore. We'll see how I'm doing at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. :)

Surprises are a good thing.

After all of the late-night Cheetos last night, I've resolved to decrease my after-8 eating. That sounds easy, but that's the only time I can eat things without the kids seeing or eating the peanut foods that they are allergic to, so that's like eliminating all the guilt foods from my diet.

My resolution is to smile more around my kids. I don't want them to remember me as someone who was always serious. Even if I have to paste a smile on, I'm doing it!

My resolution is not to make any resolutions! Goals are good but can also interrupt the quality of life with their rigidness. Therefore I intend to live life to the fullest and do the best with what I've been given, and to give thanks more freely, fully and sincerely.

My resolution is to continue to follow a New Year's resolution I made years ago... and that was to not make New Year's resolutions. So far I'm doing awesome :)

I love surprises too! Thanks for the great giveaways. Just found your site a few days ago. I plan to stick around so... Hello everyone. I'm Dave!

What a good idea!! I don't really do resolutions per se, but I am trying to not take my husband for granted - if that counts. I hope I win!!! :o)

Resolutions make me feel "unsuccessful" most of the time, so I am just trying to be better to me: eat healthier, move more, incorporate things into my everyday routine that will make me feel better about me!

Love surprises!

A secret giveaway is an awesome Idea!!

I hit something and I don't know if the silly thing already posted so if there's two of these, ignore the short one, LOL.

My New Year's resolution is pretty simple: To continue releasing the things that have kept me in limbo for years: my weight, my resentments and anger, and my self-criticism. By working on these issues, I have lost about 60 lbs in the last 15 months and have gone from size 24/26 down to size 16/18!!! I am happier and healthier than ever before. Good luck to everyone else with their resolutions, I'm putting out positive energy for your intentions.

Happy New Year! I really need to work on paying down our debt. I usually don't make resolutions but it's one that I can't "afford" to let go.

my resolution is to finish my education by completing my master's degree!

How cool! Each try I try to quite a bad habit. Two years ago I gave up soda and last year, fast food. This year I plan to drink nothing but water- wish me luck!!

Becky said...

Ooo, a surprise! How fun!

My resolution: To tell myself the same things I tell my kids (ages 1 and 2) and then expect myself to do it just as much as I expect the kids to...."Be kind to your brother/sister", "always tell the truth", "be gentle with you hands", "change your attitude", "apologize when you hurt someone", "choose to do things that would make Jesus happy", etc. I have noticed recently that almost everything I tell my kiddos could very easily be meant for me too! It's a good reminder!

Since my oven and dishwasher both died this holiday season and I can't afford to replace them at the moment, I resolve the following:

Try to see the bright side
(where are those rose colored glasses?)

Lose weight despite only having a microwave to heat food. I won't buy the good microwave stuff.

Eventually win a drawing.

I don't have any resolutions other than to take it day by day because of the cancer thing with my husband.
But about the sleeping all night thing . . . I remember those days very very well. A friend had loaned me a book on the subject and I read it cover to cover. Basically, when the child goes to bed, you go to their aid only 3 times. You tell them after the 3rd time that this will be the end, that they have to settle down and go to sleep.
And then you do not, under any circumstances (unless they're hurt!!) go in to console them.
I told my neighbors in the apartment next to ours in case they could hear crying. And it worked. It took a few nights, but it worked.
And that's that.
I do wish I could remember the book. I think it was something simple like "How to get your child to sleep through the night" !!!
